Lives of the Mongol Warlords. . VOL.1 Genghis Khan
Conqueror of the World
By Beatrice Forbes Manz · 2005
Back to CatalogueThis biography follows Temujin, later Genghis Khan, from his harsh youth on the Mongolian steppe through the unification of the Mongol tribes and the wars that built an empire in the early thirteenth century. It recounts his struggles with rival clans, the Yasa law code, the organisation of the cavalry army, the conquest of the Jin in northern China, the destruction of the Khwarezmian state, and the projection of Mongol power into Central Asia and beyond. Military organisation, terror as policy, and the politics of his sons and generals are central. The book is a life of the world-conqueror, not a general history of all later khans.
