Complete Short Stories of Sherlock Holmes

By Sir Arthur Conan Doyle · 1993

Back to Catalogue
Synopsis

This collection gathers the fifty-six short stories in which Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson appear, excluding the four longer novels. The pieces, first published from the 1890s into the 1920s, typically send the pair from Baker Street into London streets, country houses, and occasional foreign settings to examine a client, a corpse, or a seemingly impossible fact. Recurring figures include Mrs. Hudson, Inspector Lestrade, and, in a few stories, Professor Moriarty. The cases range from theft and blackmail to revenge and state secrets. The book is a complete short-fiction corpus, not a single continuous narrative.
