Synopsis
First published in 1926, this book collects stories about a boy, Christopher Robin, and his stuffed animals in a Sussex-like Hundred Acre Wood. Winnie-the-Pooh, a bear of little brain, hunts honey, sticks in Rabbit's doorway, and goes on expeditions with Piglet, Eeyore, Owl, Kanga, and Roo. The adventures are small: a Heffalump trap, a birthday, a flood. A narrator speaks both to the child reader and to the boy inside the tales. The book is a set of linked children's stories, not a novel of education and not a natural history of bears.
