Synopsis
In two acts on a bare road, Vladimir and Estragon keep an appointment with Godot, a figure they have never clearly seen. They eat a carrot, swap hats, remember little of yesterday, and stay because leaving would miss him. A boy from Godot's place arrives with excuses. Pozzo and Lucky cross the stage, first as master and enslaved thinker, then in a later condition of blindness and muteness. Night falls twice. The play, written in French and then in English, is a tragicomedy whose action is delay itself, not a puzzle play with a hidden identity for Godot.
