The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll & Mr Hyde and Weir of Hermiston
By Robert Louis Stevenson · 2006
Back to CatalogueThis volume pairs two late works. The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, first published in 1886, follows London lawyer Gabriel Utterson as he traces the link between the respectable Henry Jekyll and the violent Edward Hyde, a secret of chemistry and divided character. Weir of Hermiston, left unfinished at Stevenson's death and issued in 1896, is a Scottish novel of young Archie Weir, at odds with his hanging-judge father, who is sent to the Borders and drawn into the Elliott household. The book is two separate fictions, not a single continuous story.
