Batman: DC Comics

This anthology gathers Batman comic narratives from the DC Comics tradition rather than a single novel-length plot. Across the selected stories Bruce Wayne, as Batman, patrols a corrupt, nocturnal Gotham City, using detection, gadgets, and a costume designed to frighten criminals. Recurring antagonists - among them the Joker, Catwoman, the Penguin, and other members of a shifting rogue's gallery - test his methods and his rule against killing. Allies such as Robin, Commissioner Gordon, and Alfred appear in some episodes. The volume is a selection of illustrated crime and adventure serials about one city's vigilante, not one continuous novel.
