Synopsis
First published in 1965, this James Bond novel opens with Bond returning to London after a Soviet brainwashing, then being sent to the Caribbean to kill or capture Francisco Scaramanga, a professional assassin who uses a golden gun. In Jamaica, Bond is planted on Scaramanga's staff as the gunman prepares a hotel and a meeting of gangsters and foreign agents. Mary Goodnight and Felix Leiter reappear as allies. The book is a spy thriller of infiltration and a staged manhunt, not a travel book about Jamaica.
