The Folk of the Faraway Tree

By Enid Blyton · 2025

Back to Catalogue
Synopsis

First published in 1946, this children's fantasy follows Joe, Beth, and Frannie as their cousin Connie comes to stay in the countryside near the Enchanted Wood. The children climb the Faraway Tree, whose top opens onto a different land at each visit, among them places of marvels, secrets, and temporary enchantment. Regular companions are Moon-Face, the fairy Silky, and the Saucepan Man; the Angry Pixie and Dame Washalot live on the way up. Connie's manners collide with the tree's rules and with lands that will not stay. The book is a linked set of climbing adventures, not a school story.
