This book joins the two volumes of children's verse written for Christopher Robin: When We Were Very Young and Now We Are Six. Short poems present a small boy's days in London and the country: the changing of the guard, a walk with a nurse, pretend knights, rain, and the company of stuffed animals. Some pieces are nonsense rhymes; others are in the child's speaking voice about growing a little older. There is no continuous story. The collection is lyric verse for children, not the Winnie-the-Pooh prose narratives.
