This collection gathers E. Nesbit's three novels about the Bastable children, first published from 1899 to 1904: The Story of the Treasure Seekers, The Wouldbegoods, and New Treasure Seekers. After their mother's death and their father's money troubles, Oswald and his brothers and sisters try schemes to restore the family fortune, then attempt to be good, then stumble into further urban and holiday scrapes. The stories are told largely by Oswald in a self-important comic voice. The set is the Bastable trilogy, not the Five Children fantasies.
