Tales from Earthsea

By Ursula K. le Guin · 2015

Back to Catalogue
Synopsis

This collection gathers five stories set in the archipelago of Earthsea, with an appended essay on the world's history and magic. The tales move among the founding of the school on Roke, a young witch and a sorcerer in a market town, the making of the Bound Ones who hold the islands, a sick mage on a remote farm, and a girl who seeks teaching the school will not give. Dragons, true names, and the balance of power and restraint recur. Each story is complete. The book is a set of secondary narratives in a known fantasy world, not a sixth Earthsea novel with one plot.
