This anthology collects ten standalone Marvel comic-book issues chosen as personal favourites rather than as an official history of the company. The stories range from a 1960s Spider-Man episode to later work on Daredevil, the X-Men, Captain America, the Runaways, the Fantastic Four, and Hawkeye, among others. Each piece is a complete single-issue tale or chapter, reproduced from the original comics. The volume is a reader-curated miscellany of superhero shorts spanning several decades, not a chronological survey of one team or a single graphic novel.
