This collection assembles comic-book stories about Thor, the Norse thunder god recast as a Marvel hero who lives partly as the lame physician Donald Blake and partly in Asgard. Early episodes send him against earthly villains and against Loki, frost giants, and threats to Odin's realm; later ones vary the mortal identity, the love of Jane Foster, and the politics of the gods. The selection runs across several decades of the monthly title. The book is a curated anthology of one character's serial, mixing mythological spectacle with superhero plotting, not a retelling of the medieval Eddas.
